Default A Guild Wars Autumnal Wallpaper

Yes, I know it's not quite Autumn yet. Just thought I'd clarify that.

As a bit of explanation; this is sort of a work depicting my characters in the twilight of GW1 and setting the scene for GW2. My two main characters in the forefront, my Dervish and my Ele, have been a couple since I made my Dervish, at least in my mind. As such, it sets the stage for my characters in GW2 (their progeny). A while ago, I read a very, very neat thread where people outlined what happened after GW and how their characters ended, the most popular seemed to be a heroic sacrifice to hold off the Charr while the Ascalonians evacuated to Kryta.

But I digress; how my Derv and my Ele end off their story in GW1, in my mind, has been them just kind of leaving to explore the vast territory to the East of Ascalon, beyond the Blazeridge Mountains. My other characters I've not really worked a story on, but my Warrior helps with the above evacuation (but doesn't sacrifice himself, thank you very much) and marries my Ranger, he becomes a major figurehead in Ascalonian leadership and a representative in the Krytan Senate.

But basically in this scene, My Ele and my Derv are taking one last look at familiar lands, remembering the friends (my other characters) they've left behind. The sun sets over the Blazeridge mountains, and the trees are representative of where the boundary that marks the searing ends, and where the land is still alive.

And as a technical note, the actual landscape is not my creation. I just found it online. I only added my characters, the sun, and the hilltop they're standing on, aside from a few color touchups. This style is sort of in keeping with my wintersday wallpaper I made last year. Most of my other works are movie poster style space scenes with my GW characters and a Star Trek ship.

Anyhoo, I just thought you guys might appreciate this piece. Thanks for looking.

Very nice indeed!

Your first work does indeed remind me of Ascalon, before the Searing.
Mabye not just visually but allso how you explain it. The things we left behind, friends and places.
And how we had to move away from all of it. I wish we could see it bloom once again!

Keep it up!

If you think that's creepy you should see my other wallpapers where I actually highlight the floating heads. Now those are creepy.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words and sentiments.

I just thought I'd note, in the actual wallpaper I'm using, there are elements from all my interests, like Star Trek for instance. I just edited those out to favor the GW side for this community. So I'm probably not as GW obsessed as this might lead some to believe.
